During the coronavirus crisis the Members Resource section will be open to all visitors. We are ramping up production and will do our best to offer our members and visitors a wee bit of diversion and entertainment during these stressful times. Please keep yourselves safe and keep an eye out for your neighbors if they are in need.

Silo Distillery in Windsor, Vermont is one of the many distilleries producing hand sanitizer and making it available to the public in limited amounts.  They are also very busy filling orders for local hospitals and first responders. If you are in a position to help support their efforts, I know they would be most appreciative.

The Upper Valley Whisky Society is a group for the discerning whisky enthusiast. That is, anyone interested in the finer nuances of whisky; its history, culture, industry, and of course its taste.

All skill levels are welcome from the whisky-novice to the connoisseur. We’ll meet once a month to discuss a whisky-related topic, have a tasting, take a tour, listen to a speaker or enjoy a presentation. Each event will include a sampling of fine whisky.

And, trust me, we’ll savor some exceptional whiskies from around the world.

So ladies, gentlemen, if you would like to spend some quality time with a congenial group of folks discussing the finer aspects of a responsible whisky lifestyle, please join us!

“Whisky making is an act of cooperation between the blessings of nature and the wisdom of man.”

So You Like Whisky

Well, you are in interesting company.

Throughout the ages, whisky has influenced significant thinkers, movers, and shakers. Though it is hard to document its direct impact, the fact remains that some remarkable people have had a relationship with whisky.  And that’s worth noting.

Whether it be poets, writers, politicians, royals, or the guy down the street, whisky has shaped the lives of many people. Some of it’s been good, some not so good.

The Upper Valley Whisky Society is an organization that acknowledges that whisky is a double-edged sword. However, our goal is to provide a framework for members to appreciate the finer aspects of a whisky lifestyle, while at the same time respecting its short comings.

Join us while we explore the history of making whisky, its influence on various cultures and the way it has shaped our collective history.  And to be sure, along the way, we’ll have our fair share of tasting contemporary whiskies and integrating whisky with a responsible, contemporary lifestyle.

So, click the enrollment button, it will be a trip worth taking!
