Glenmorangie Original is a Scottish whisky and my go-to friend. You know the person you can rely on and help you through those tough times in life. They may not be the best looking or the smartest one in the crowd. But you know they’ll be there for you when you need them to most.
Well Glenmorangie, The Original, is my go-to scotch. Being a scotch enthusiast can be hard work! Sometimes all the choices and changes in the quickly evolving world of whisky overwhelms you.
It’s those days I reach for my Glenmorangie. The youngest whisky in the blendis at least 10 years old. however, it is my understanding that about 30-35% of the malt comes from their premium Artisan Cask line, which bears an age statement of 15 years.
This is a good whisky. It’s soft hint of vanilla mingles with the scent of citrus and ripening peaches. A burst of flowery fruitiness ripples across the palate followed by a clean finish with hints of orange.
It’s no wonder that Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible rated it at a 94 for nine consecutive years!
