In addition to posts, articles, and publications on whiskey-related material, we provide members with reports on new whisky releases, interviews with industry experts, whisky puzzles, and discounts on Society events, swag, and merchandise offered at Whiskybits online store. (opening April 2020)

However, if you feel we have overlooked something or there is a whiskey-related need not being met, let us know, and we’ll do our best to fill the void!

At UVWS our goal is to publish new content on a weekly basis. The three most recent posts will be available to all visitors on the Home Page. However, older posts will only be availabe in the Members Only Resource section.

Our blog posts cover a wide range of whiskey-related issues. Some posts and articles are written by members while some are written by invited guests. And in some cases, we find a really good article or post elsewhere online that we know you’ll enjoy.

So, if you are interested in expanding your whisky knowledge base, the Whisky Blog is a great place to start!

Each month we publish a monthly newsletter. In it, we will do our best to keep you informed and entertained. We’ll share a feature article guaranteed to enhance your whisky experience. In addition, we’ll keep you abreast of Upcoming Events and festivities hosted by our sponsors.

We even throw in a puzzle, cartoon, or useless fact to keep you chuckling.

The Newsletter section in Member Resources contains all our past newsletters. And while there may not be many now, over time we’ll build a nice little collection for your enjoyment and knowledge gathering.

Periodically the Society publishes white papers, articles, presentations, or educational videos intended to enhance your whisky experience. We also pull together some classy posters and infographics that are sure to entertain you.

The information covers a wide range of subjects and offers a focused exploration of a topic. Some are member written but we also reach out to the worldwide whisky community to link material that we feel is of particular interest to our members.

Our goal is produce at least two-three publications a month, so the collection will build pretty quickly. Most publications are available in a downloadable pdf format.

The whisky world has a unique language, full of curious words and phrases. Some are quaint, some amusing, and some are downright intimidating.

But fear not, we’re here to help. We started a glossary full of useful terms and phrases. We will be adding to the glossary as new material is published to the website.

But in the meantime, if you come across a whisky related word or phase that you’d like defined, please drop us a line. We will be happy to add it to the glossary.

Many of the names we come across when selecting whiskies can seem a bit daunting, especially the single malt Scotches. And with the recent influx of Japanese whiskies, our tongues are often twisted up in knots.

But we got your back here. Our Pronunciation Guide is a foolproof way of nailing even the most obscure whisky names. Our Guide includes Scottish, Japanese and even some European and other national brand names.

And if you stumble across a whisky name you’d like some help with, drop us a line and we’ll do our best to help you out.

Each week we offer a unique whisky based crossword puzzle, scramble, or word search. The clues will be selected from various articles, blogs, or pages within the Upper Valley Whisky Society website.

To make things even more interesting, we “pair” the puzzle with a new release whisky. In essence, it’s a two-for, a problem to challenge your existing whisky knowledge, and a whiskey-profile to assist you in expanding that same knowledge base.

There are some great whisky podcasts on the internet. The UVWS scans the net to seek out the better ones. When we find one we like, we request permission to link it here to our Member Resouce Section.

We will do our best to bring you the best! If you have a favorite podcast you’d like listed here, let us know and we’ll reach out and try and link up with them. And thank you for sharing your knowledge with the Society!
